Recent State Legislative Issues

Amended SB 1372 Passes Texas House

ARDA-ROC and ARDA are supporting bills that will exempt timeshare associations from various confusing Property Code sections and establish basic provisions for those associations in the Texas Timeshare Act.  The Senate version of the bill, SB 1372, was slightly amended on May 15 and passed the full House on May 16.

Vermont Timeshare Amendments Pass House on May 7

Rep. Heidi Scheuermann's (R-Stowe) H. 441 passed the Vermont House on May 7 to fix several provisions in the Vermont Common Interest Ownership Act that are harmful to timeshare associations.  The bill will now move over to the Senate for consideration in the next legislative session.  2013 is the first year of a two-year session.

CO Governor Signs Resale and Transfer Regulation Bill

Colorado Governor Hickenlooper has signed landmark resale legislation protecting timeshare owners and associations in the state.
