Democrat Earl Ray Tomblin is Governor of West Virginia. Democrats hold the Senate with a 28 – 6 majority and the House of Representatives with a 65 – 35 majority.

The Senate is led by President Jeff Kessler. The House of Representatives is led by Speaker Rick Thompson. The 2013 year will open on January 9.

West Virginia Amends Timeshare Law

The West Virginia State Auditor's Office amendments to the Real Estate Time-Sharing Act were enacted on April 13, 2013 and will take effect in 90 days.  HB 2842 clarifies that all timeshare plans are subject to regulation. The change was prompted by increased fraudulent resale activity in the state.
