Republican Sam Brownback was elected Governor of Kansas in 2010 following 16 years of service as a U.S. Senator. Republicans hold a 32 – 8 majority in the Senate and a 92 – 33 majority in the House of Representatives.

The Senate is led by President Stephen Morris. The House of Representatives is led by Speaker Michael O’Neal. The Kansas Legislature convenes January 14, 2013.
